I don't understand this point of view. This isn't coercion. With a vaccine passport policy, people still have a choice of whether or not to get vaccinated.
You should look up what coercion means.
Its too easy to hide behind a claim that it's voluntary when it's not really voluntary if it is designed to be coercive.
Coercion: the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats.
How are people being forced to take the vaccine? How are people being threatened to take the vaccine? I think vaccines ought to be mandated but if conservatives are going to bleat about freedoms in protest, then a passport is a great compromise. People will still have the freedom not to get vaccinated if it's important to them.
And I will have the freedom not to do business with the unvaccinated. My stores have signs that you must be vaccinated to enter. No exceptions. I can do business with whom I wish. Being unvaccinated (ie, being stupid) is not a protected class. I have the legal right to discriminate against the unvaccinated.
Absolutely you do, as the owner. Any owner of a business should be allowed to conduct business with whom and how they want to. Let the market speak, 100% with you.

Anonymous wrote:How idiotic. I’ve spent thousands recently in VA because it’s more relaxing than spending it here. I’m just not shopping somewhere where they want a card about my personal health information.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I spent the summer in France and their system works very well. You can also get a free rapid test and get the pass for 72 hours.
Just saying.
You spent the summer there but apparently missed the protests?
I don’t care about this one way or the other. I am always just amused at how people characterize Europe. The measures in France are highly controversial and strongly opposed by residents and businesses.

Jim Eagle policy that would disproportionately hurt the poor and minorities. I can see why MoCo would want it though.
How so? The vaccine is available to everyone who wants one.
Not equally available.

Let me help you. Either you totally have the shot and can participate or you don't and totally can not fully participate in society.
Tot-al .... total .... totalitarianism?
Also - do you not need an ID to get the vaccine? Don't you have to have proof of age, ergo a requirement to produce identification. Would that not, therefore then be discriminatory toward the same folks who are leaned on for political leverage when it comes to voting "rights"?

EVERYTHING disproportionately hurt the poor and minorities. Sorry, but other countries manage.
+1 including covid
What is stopping poor and minorities from getting the vaccine?
Ignorance.

A vaccine passport gives residents a false sense of security and encourage reckless behavior.
Just like seatbelts don't block injury in a car crash.
Seatbelts give motorists a false sense of security and encourage reckless driving - right?
Seatbelts are not a great analogy. Your car won’t refuse to turn on if you’re not wearing a seatbelt. And you’re not banned from the roads for failing to wear one. Every once in a while, you might get fined for not wearing a seatbelt, but it’s not really that common.
We’re really entering uncharted territory in this country if we go down the path of requiring people share medical details in order to be able to engage in basic, day to day activities. And it’s weird that liberals are the ones who are championing this level of intrusiveness.
