They're not going to close the sportsplex. It makes money and it's in an industrial zone (you can't put apartments, condos, etc there).

Playing at the St. James now. This weekend, we saw many more masks than we did the last few weeks, but agree that place needs to enforce their mask policy.

If you think a re-used porous dirty mask is going to protect you from a virus in a crowded indoor sports facility you're not operating with a full deck of cards. Perhaps stay home and never go out in public if you're afraid of something that is now on par with the flu. Or just turn off Commie News Network.

I think you have masks confused with your dirty underwear.

We pulled my son from playing there a few years ago, pre cocid because of the awful ventilation and crappy fields. He was always having respiratory infections. I swear it was that place.

Is there an official final closing date?

IDK, but it cannot come soon enough. My ex and I are in an ongoing disagreement about having our tween play in that facility right now. It seems poorly ventilated to me and like a COVID cesspit.

Eh, my son is 13 and weights 75 lbs, so many kids that are actually his age outweigh him by at least 50 lbs. I don't think the difference means people are lying, even though it sucks for kids like my son.

+1

My youngest turns 14 in April and weighs 95 pounds. Only 5'2". Two years behind in growth spurt.

I have an older son so I saw this in the middle school years with him. I knew many of the boys since Kindergarten--and, yes, some looked like men in 7th and 8th grade. Our neighbor was 5'9" in 6th grade. In his case, he is now a Senior and still 5'9". My older son is now 6'3", but was a foot shorter than that kid for a looooong time.

Sounds like me as a kid. I was 5’8” in 8th grade and am still that height. Unfortunately, I am also 60 lbs heavier. Ha!

TSJ members have arrived? My kids wear clean masks. Indoors, like responsible people do. Maybe practice some personal responsibility and teach your kids some hygiene skills before criticizing others.

Really? I sat in the St James stands Sunday night surrounded by a bunch of maskless Redneck spectators....even after getting multiple emails or texts about the 'mandatory mask' policy.

Folks will never mask regardless of the emails or whatever. What is the actual point of making something un enforceable manadatory?

My kids played a tournament where it was strictly enforced. Spectators were told to put on a mask, pull it up or leave.

St James Sunday night, the spectators were coming and going without masks—-not even a fake attempt at wearing one to get into facility or stands.

My teen son has played futsal there for several years, but honestly, I had a lot of concerns about the ventilation during the pandemic.
