I actually just got the tincture a few weeks ago - apparently this was the preferred method of ingestion in the US before it was made illegal (that was in the marketing materials - who knows if it’s true). It’s just concentrated THC in a little dropper. The one I purchased shows milligrams on the dropper itself for dosing. If I take 25mg it takes the edge off - if I take 100 mg I can’t function.
I like the tincture more than the edibles because there’s an earlier onset than edibles (between 15 minutes and an hour as opposed to 1-2 hours with an edible) and also the high isn’t as “intense.” If you’re in a state that’s legal I’m sure dispensary staff can educate you further.
If you have kids, are you concerned about being impaired around them or if they need you? The WaPo had an article a few years ago by a Roman who did edibles fir the first time and she said she was completely out of it and her DH has to be in charge of kids.
Oh no the horrors!!! A MAN had to be in charge of HIS OWN CHILDREN??? My pearls are firmly clutched and I need the fainting couch!!

I just get it from a friend I trust. We smoke maybe 4-6 times a year so we aren't acquiring large quantities.
I have a friend in DC who grows it. There's a place on H St that delivers, but you need a DC address to deliver it to...
PP here: I'm in DC and notwithstanding the fact that it's decriminalized, I wouldn't create a paper trail by using a delivery service.

It helps me turn down the volume, for lack of a better term, on my anxiety/anxious thoughts and allows me to relax. This is in addition to a regular exercise routine and meditation/prayer practice.
Alcohol creates a similar effect initially but leads to depression, over-emotionality for me. Another plus of cannabis is no hangover. Fun fact: the human body is equipped with an endocannabanoid system, suggesting that humans have had a relationship with cannabis for quite a long time.
Me too, PTSD from an abusive marriage and I use edibles or tinctures daily. I live in CO and have my med card. Alcohol is lousy for me given my history, but THC hits all my good buckets.

I’m so glad that you have something that works for you, would you mind explaining the tinctures a little bit?
Weed also really helps me settle down but I have kids and can’t have the smell so I use a vape which has its own drawbacks, a tincture sounds interesting.

But eventually the weight stopped coming off and someone suggested I knock off the booze, it’s been about a month and a half and I feel way better but still need something to alter my consciousness from time to time.
I take two hits of a little vape pen thing and I’m I’m laughing, horny and then sleepy; my partner does the same and bedtime has become a whole lot more fun. I’m so glad it’s legal
6 martinis??? Like, at one time, or spread out over 2 days -- still a lot for me (2 drinks and I have a hangover if I don't hydrate & advil-up at bed)
