It's more online dating that caused this, less so women being financially independent. Online dating led to a small number of attractive men monopolizing casual sex which coincided with the rise of hookup culture. Most men are locked out of hookup culture which leads many to become frustrated and bitter.


Unlike all the fat old single moms who are not frustrated and bitter at all that those attractive men want young, hot, childless women and not them.

? when I was in my late 20s. Or are you saying that 20 years ago, online dating wasn't a thing? Yes, it was.. as was speed dating.

I have a couple of friends who met their LTR partner online years ago. Yes, it can work. And I guess if you've exhausted all other means and methods, then online dating could be just another source. I just find it really weird.

On most OLD sites, you can list a body type (e.g., slim, athletic, BBW, etc.) .


Which is irrelevant because even the most morbidly obese woman will say she has an "average" body type.
