I went to big state U in Midwest, then Johns Hopkins for master's. DH went to rival in-state big U, has MBA from online university. DK1 went to VT. DK2 possibly transferring from smaller public VA U to GMU for a specific major. DK1 aiming for Ivy level for PhD.

Me: top LAC, then a Masters at Mason PT while working FT (in state tuition-woot)
Him:barely graduated HS, military, CC to Mason all PT while working FT, graduated with an EE degree in his early 30s when our first was 4

Teen in HS, but looking at Radford and ODU instate and a bunch of other non-DCUM approved schools in PA, NC, NJ, RI and MA. She could possibly start at NVCC. She has similar learning difficulties to her father and we just want what is best for her.

2nd daughter is too young, but she seems to be a better student so far.

Kid is going to our local community college. (couldn't get in, no way for us to afford it anyway)

CMU grads not able to afford one private tuition?

Just curious as DS is headed to CMU engineering in a few weeks. He chose CMU over RPI (w 1/2 merit offer) for the reputation and program. This makes me wonder if he should’ve picked RPI for the savings.

NP. Yes, it is indeed possible that someone doesn’t have $250,000 saved for college, regardless of where they attended.

Friend, Carnegie Mellon is closer to $320,000 for four years
