I love Angle of Repose. Have you ever read any Wendell Berry? He’s a wonderful writer with a similar spare prose.

Some of my favorites are My Antonia by Willa Cather, Atonement by Ian McEwan, 1000 Acres by Jane Smiley and Fidelity by Wendell Berry.

The Poisonwood Bible was amazing. I had no interest in the book or the subect matter initiallt but haven't forgetten this book after have read it a decade ago.
