Actually we quit BEFORE the season started, but HOCO did not remove us from the schedule, until after the season started. Our coach would never bail out once a season starts. HOCO had lots of time to make schedule adjustments and chose not to.
You are correct we did not want to play elite, we are not ready for that level. We were forced up and told too bad. BLC was also forced up and look at how that ended for them. They lost every single game by big margins. Nothing is gained by getting your asses handed to you each week. That's just miserable.
They could not just take our goalie. That would have been wrong as well. Our goalie was not a registered player, since we were not participating in HOCO this year.
Lacrosse should be treated like soccer with player cards checked before each game.
