Right- the Governor said in his press release no more rules. His Chief of Staff called out pools specifically at the press conference and said 'if you are planning a summer swim league, plan for a normal summer.' For those who are not satisfied by those statements- I don't know what to tell you.

FWIW- Dominion Hills is the ONLY pool in the NVSL that I am aware of that is still planning on roping off sections off the pool. Even prior to the most recent announcement about restrictions being lifted May 28th- numerous NVSL pools had already announced that weren't even doing reservations but simply keeping an eye on overall capacity, and telling people to distance. (e.g. Donaldson Run, Arlington Forest, Kent Gardens) .

PP here. I am on a board that seems to have mixed interpretations. It shouldn’t be this confusing, but for some reason it is turning out to be. Short of a direct order saying “Pools don’t have to lower capacity and can lift distancing requirements”, I don’t know what else to look for.

I’m on our club’s board and while we aren’t planning reservations we had planned on staying under the state’s 75%?capacity cap, posting 6’ distancing on deck and 10’ on the water. We haven’t met yet to discuss how the nee guidance affects operations and honestly I’m not sure how it applies to pools.

I know there is still some skepticism on this. It seems like bard members are used to having the screws tightened over the past year that they are waiting to be told specifically that they can lift these precautions

Same- as of now it's the same as last year. It sounds like there are some people who really liked the smaller crowds and exclusive-type atmosphere last year and want to use Covid as a reason to keep it in place another year even if not required.

Do you mean you are a lap swimmer and you enjoyed having a reserved lap lane??? Or do you mean that you enjoyed swimming with your children in one lane of the pool and having them and you not allowed to mix and talk with one another? I'm genuinely curious? I know lots of lap swimmers liked the reservation system, but my impression was that everyone else saw it as a necessary evil to operate the pool in COVID times, but yearned to return to open swim.

He is lifting all restrictions- there are no 'new rules' to see. I am flabbergasted that any pool would continue to set up reservations and set up COVID policies in light of this announcement. (I can kind of see it if you are already open, but for pools that open May 29th it is stunning to me.)
