In all honesty, cleaning services always seem to specialize in “superficial clean” - looks great until you look closer. At some points in my life I have been so busy, I rarely looked closer until I suddenly would see what hadn’t been cleaned for months. Even supposed “deep cleaning” didn’t seem that thorough to me.

I also think people just don’t realize that the only clean where most cleaning services really earn their money is the first one, or after an event or something. After that first deep clean, its maintenance, which takes less time and effort. Most people can maintenance clean their homes in an hour, maybe 90 minutes if it’s a big house. Paying someone $150-200 a week to do something I can finish on a Wednesday after work in lieu of a yoga class seems crazy to me.
