What was backup planning startup failed; I’ve looked at plenty but the high risk of flaming out and not making rent was dicey for us.

I only just now saw this reply - sorry! I work for a bank not headquartered in DC - I just have to travel frequently due to being remote. I was in DC prior to taking the role and was able to negotiate staying here because we do have an office for some government related activity and lobbying (unrelated to my work but means I have a place to go). Now with covid we are even more remote work friendly.
