Why? A reflection on VT, or GMU?

I graduated from mason 10 years ago, but I definitely felt like I had the normal college experience. I joined greek life and lived in a dorm 3 out of 4 years. The 4th I lived in a townhouse with friends.
There is plenty to do on the weekends and even during the week as long as you actually try to make friends. If you choose to sit in class and not speak to anyone to make friends then go home to your parents house every weekend that is on you for not getting the college experience.
I will say I personally wasn't friends with anyone who went home every weekend. The few local kids I was friends with may have gone to their parents for dinner/visit one night during the week, but rarely during the weekend.
I also had a job right after graduation and don't know anyone who struggled to get their career started or get into grad school if those were their desires.
This was also 10 years ago so things could have changed, but from my understanding it was more of a commuter school then.

Any commuters care to comment on how inclusive they felt with the social life of non-commuters?

Mason because of its location has an outsized presence with DOD contractors and the USG.

So we are allowed to revive an old thread on GMU - but other schools get multiple repetitive and predictable trolling threads?
Interesting.

All depends.
You can get really busy
If you get bored at any college, it's on you.
