Swami says you will, indeed, get into Garrison immediately with low WL numbers for Seaton and H-A. After getting offers for both, you will get spooked about middle school and go to Hyde. Once you do, you'll check in all the time with your old school community and immediately regret it.

Your number at your top three will be terrible, but after the pandemic shakes out, you'll get a place at Cap City in September. You'll decide to stay in your care situation because you are worried about DS' sibling.

You'll move to Anne Arundel County in 2023.

Swami says you'll get into LAMB SD at your first pull and determine the commute untenable. You will get an offer at CHMS after September 15th because your master number was reallly good, and after posting lots of inquiries on MOTH, will take it.

This was the first time we played the lottery - we don’t have a lot of knowledge on this, but do understand that Ross is almost impossible out of boundary, and Garrison/Seaton also very competitive. Our child has no siblings.


Swami says you'll enjoy three years at Garrison in your crowded condo and then move (but only to Chevy Chase DC so you can tell people you are still in DC)

Not Swami. Upcoming 4th grade at Janney is a bubble year. Even with enrollment going slightly down, there's no way Janney will add OOB to that grade. Parents have already held many, many meetings over the years regarding how the school should deal with this overly large class.

I don’t think that’s right. Some of these schools took big enrollment hits this year. More kids in these neighborhoods will head to privates next year if in person is looking at all iffy. No seats will be offered in the lottery, but I’d virtually bet on WL movement at a few of those schools.


My child is at Murch in 3rd this year. We have had 2 students leave. You will not get in OOB at Murch next year. Guaranteed. Not sure about the other schools.

I’m the PP. there are currently two open spots (two kids left). They definitely won’t fill those in the lottery. And I doubt they will be open for any OOB kids before October.
