My DH used to get annoyed if I wasn't out of bed by 6:30, not realizing I actually need 8 hours of sleep. I'm not being lazy getting up at 7, you d!ck. I'm exhausted from years of sleep deprivation so suck it.

Sorry you were a slave to your baby. I hope, at some point, you were able to implement a routine, not to be controlling because everyone does better when they know what to expect.
Anonymous wrote:Oh please. I'm glad your nanny got your baby on a schedule so you could visit with them once a day. Most parents actually raise their own children and give them what they need when they need it. Sleeping and eating is a baby's only job so they can grow and develop.
Anonymous wrote:OK, the 7:30 bedtime lady is plain crazy, but do you guys think your teens are actually sleeping 14 hours a day?

We only wake if there is a sport or other reason. On sundays he can sleep til whenever (although it’s mostly not past 11).
Why is your teen going to bed at 11? Bedtime for us has always been 7:30. Won’t change unless there is a lot of homework. Typically only a few times a year it has to be later because of homework.
Your TEEN goes to bed at 7:30?
Yes he is 13 and bedtime will always be 7:30
This is the craziest thing I've ever read on this site.

She had this policy even on the summers I spent at her house while I was in college. I was always a good daughter, student and did all the chores she wanted, so it was ridiculous that I couldn't sleep in on the weekend. In high school, I had to be at the bus stop at 5:55 am and always felt sleep deprived no matter what I did.
Was she a monster in other ways? It’s hard to picture someone who would do this as being a nice person the rest of the time. Were naps allowed?

I let my son stay up later on weekends but he goes to bed by 11:30 or so. He regularly sleeps until noon. Teenagers are like babies. They are growing a lot! That requires tons of sleep (and food!)
...and they do best on a routine/schedule. Don't know why you think they don't.
My baby was on his own schedule until about a year or so. Why are DCUMs so controlling?
