I think it's more of a joke against the organization rather than the people who pay to be in it.
Agree. The Metro 08s lost to FCV 3-0 yesterday in a GA makeup game. 3-0 isn't actually that bad.
Not that FCV coaching is that great anymore, but that is bad. Metro actually has some decent soccer players in the 2008 group. Coaching at Metro is dreadful.
Metro 2008 has multiple 2009 players on the team. And there are a few 2008 playing on 2007. If everyone returned to their age I think trams may perform better. However, those kids playing up may leave the club. So here we sit
That's true of many other clubs/teams. FCV 07 has 2 08s that I know of; Arlington has at least 1; Bethesda has at least 1; many of the better CCL teams also have 08s on the 07 team. It would be a different landscape if everyone played their age group.
The difference is the 2008’s playing on Metro 2007 team would not be playing on any other 2007 ECNL or GA team. If they leave metro they would be forced to play 2008. Same with all the other metro play ups.
There are no playups on the 07 team.

A quick look at their girls teams shows mostly division 2. I wouldn't consider that "lower division" but yeah, it's still NCSL. I saw their U-15 (or maybe it was U-14?) team play in McLean and they weren't bad.
U-11 Division 1
U-12 Division 2
U-13 Division 2
U-14 Division 1
U-15 Division 2
U-16 Division 2

U-19 N/A
They’re winning divisions. They’re winning tournaments too. And they’re winning against their local neighboring clubs. Seems like people’s arrogance will turn into “fake” surprise when they’re surpassed by a 3 year old club. Talk about being woke.
One of their players just made it to U17 DC United.
Except Metro United only has girls. Are you thinking of Great Falls Reston?
VA Revolution just had one of their boys make the U17 DC United team.
Got it. That's great! Out of curiosity, how did he get noticed by DC United? DCU doesn't have try outs for the older teams and VA Revolution doesn't scrimmage DCU.
Part of the reason you shouldn’t sleep on an up-and-coming club with a philosophy, support, and culture.
VA Revolution boys has nothing to do with Metro United girls.
With respect to Metro United girls, survey says many don't think the culture is very good. All you need to do is look at the numbers who have left over the past 3 years.
