It won’t end with silencing conservatives. Unless stopped, it will end with a small number of tech billionaires and a small number of very liberal politicians determining what you can read in a book (Amazon already won’t publish some conservative authors),
What you can watch on TV (tv stars are frequently cancelled),
And what you can listen to on the radio (democrats sent a letter to cable companies wanting them to drop conservative outlets).

Amazon doesn’t publish books.

So what alternative are you proposing? That the publisher be FORCED to publish the book by the governement? Really?

This question has been asked about 10 times on this thread and no one will answer. I wonder why.

Still waiting.

Was that the first public criticism of Dr. Seuss books being racist?

Clearly not because they changed one of the books in 1978. Jeff already pointed this out upthread.

You can just google it to easily find that the answer to your question is no. You're welcome!

Please tell us who first flagged the racist aspects and when.

When I googled, this is what came up.

And, when I ask who and when, I really mean when did society collectively take notice? When was the collective aha moment?

Another poster has already answered your question. Why don't you respond to them?

What is a "collective aha moment"?

The right is literally trying to cancel my vote for President.

No? Dr. Seuss himself eventually thought the original drawing in Mulberry Street was racist and changed it.

"Cancel Culture" is the new "War on Christmas."

Neither of them have any basis in fact. Both of them are made up to rile up the conservative base.

If there was a huge outcry in support of this book, then I bet they wouldn't have decided to stop publishing. There wasn't. So, there you go.

If you think something is being "canceled," then speak up to stop it.

Get your head out of the sand.

The ban is coming from Dr. Seuss Enterprises, not from any "liberal" group calling for it. I am a liberal and think it's silly. Feel better now?

Not really. They are doing it under heavy liberal pressure.

What heavy liberal pressure? Are you talking about people asking them to stop publishing that book? Because if you are, it seems like you're advocating that we censor the people speaking out....

Did I miss something? Are Dr. Seuss books conservative?
