Incorrect. DP. We (I) actually never filled in the form. Overwhelmed with FT job, husband deployed in a combat zone and three kids under 10, it fell to the wayside. Ten minute talk with the principal fixed that and we are now hybrid.
And I'll add this- there's something really gross about you. It seems you're taking delight in children being denied help after they've been at home for a year. Families have really struggled tremendously and you're being glib. You should be ashamed of yourself. I encourage everyone to flag this person's posts.
You actually talked to the principal to work it out though. You followed up because you missed the paperwork. These people are saying they’re just going to turn up and demand their kids go in, because they wanted to wait and see when everyone else had to make the decision. A very difficult decision under pressure. I am being glib because so many people on here don’t want to take responsibility for their own choices. You did. My comment is not about you.
But the fallacy in your rant is that everyone had to make a decision. ACPS said the choice was non binding so it was reasonable to believe you did not have to make a choice (we had a paperwork snafu as well. We tried to fill out the form at 6 pm the last day and the form was taken down at 5 pm). We are fine with the default virtual choice but others who don’t want to be bound by their purported non binding December choice are completely justified in being outraged and thinking about how to seek a remedy with ACPS.

I guess I am the person you want to direct your anger out. But it’s not about me. And that’s fine. make up your stories and get your ire out. I’m overwhelmed and exhausted at home too.

I mean, I agree with you that it was handled incorrectly, but of course they can forbid her from entering the building. Under your theory, under what authority can they forbid me from sending my son four days a week instead of two?
They aren't offering 4 days a week, so its fair to deny you something not being afforded to anyone. They are offering 2 days a week to everyone so they can't deny it to a few. Totally different.

Yes, I think people understand that it's a logistical issue. Their problem is that when the "survey" was given in Dec it was framed as a non-binding choice--with the best info you have now. It seems that only ACPS is entitled to flexibility when they require it.
I think most counties messed up this whole process immensely. Wish I could sell my house and move out of this crapshoot of an educational system that NOVA has become.

Yes, I think people understand that it's a logistical issue. Their problem is that when the "survey" was given in Dec it was framed as a non-binding choice--with the best info you have now. It seems that only ACPS is entitled to flexibility when they require it.
