Subject: First name to avoid naming child if you have a certain last name
A friend was ordering monogrammed slippers for her kids at Christmas when she realized that when the last name was placed in the middle, as one does with monograms, her kids' initials were DCK and FCK. I love this bc she thought it was hilarious and ordered the slippers anyway.

I have a friend with the last name Ness! And her middle initial is A. (Didn’t notice that one till she pointed it out, but unluckily for her, other kids were apparently much quicker on the uptake.)

The doctor who did my husband's vasectomy was Dr. Ball. He was great and had a sense of humor about it.
I used to work with a young woman whose last name was Ramirez. She and her husband were expecting a baby boy and she was telling me about names they were considering. Richard was at the top of the list. I politely told her to Google the name Richard Ramirez before they chose that one. She was horrified because she had no idea what the Night Stalker's real name was (this was well before the Netflix series and related shows about him).

Peter File is a surprisingly common name. (Though not sure I would have picked up on the implications of that one if not for the Peter File episode of the British show The IT Crowd.)
My beloved grandmother’s name was Frieda, and I definitely considered using it, but our last name is occasionally used as penis slang. Frieda [Penis]. No thanks!
