FCV will not be allowed back in. They have no boys program. Arlington already has one foot in the door (boys), and their GAL teams are surprisingly good. Would make sense for Arlington, but I'm sure it would upset McLean.
FCV has national team players, Top ACC players and highly ranked teams in the GAL, they should get in.
Yeah and they burned the league. ECNL doesn't let FCV in and guess what? Those players go to McLean.
How exactly did FCV burn the ECNL, several clubs that left for the DA are now back in ECNL

That is true and thank you. I'd like to say that I think a poster said it best previously with "now that dust is settling". Talented girls almost always gravitate to ECNL. With the DA folding, the GAL unfolding, the movement of MW to VDA, the coaching staff swaps of SYC/LMVSC, and lastly COVID let to a lot less of that movement this year. It will return in full force.
ECNL Teams:
McLean and Loudoun will get stronger because, sadly, FCV will see fewer players as they opt for McLean and Loudoun. They should have never left ECNL.
VDA will get stronger as MW continues to build their program.
BRYC will get stronger simply because where they sit. They can pick off players from SYC, Alexandria, Vienna, possibly even the cream of Arlington (unless Arlington gets ECNL)
GAL Teams:
Arlington is the only GAL team that will come out as 'non impacted' next year.
Metro will really suffer.
FCV, as stated above, likely to be hurt.
Non-ECNL, Non-GAL Teams:
Best players will keep feeding into their nearest ECNL, GAL teams. If DD is talented AND serious about soccer, U13, U14 should be last years 'playing with friends'. They'll make friends on new teams, and they'll be playing better soccer. U15, U16, U17 is harder to break into a roster but the really good players will do so.
Arlington will lose players to McLean. No one is sticking around for this

Musical chairs, nobody loses a seat. This is pure nonsense. If you're a coach or TD, I understand this kind of autoerotic stimulation - it's industry gossip about what you do. If not, you are crazy and do not have a player with real talent. No talented people or players think in these terms. They may have advantages, but those who think like this never have long-term edge necessary to make talent useful to anybody else.

What dilutes the talent is over 100 clubs and counting.
Diluted? Maybe. Yes, there are more clubs in ECNL now. The newest members come from GA, and ECNL RL. The number of elite players in the country hasn't changed, just more of them are in ECNL now. If you're calling that dilution, ok, but the incoming teams are not weak by any stretch. They are expanding to capture a bigger share of the elite level.
Nevertheless, the trouble with one massive league is that at some point, the average skill level drops. It is unavoidable. Ideally, at 120 clubs and growing, there should be another tier above ECNL, which ECNL itself has tried to fill with PDP and other programs. But this top tier should not be, and is not ECNL's primary responsibility. ECNL is designed to feed the college ranks primarily. They've been doing quite well with that, placing upwards of 85%, and the majority of those at the DI level. Even at 130 clubs, they will still be spectacularly successful at it.
I thought GA didn't have elite players?
This explains the rather robust ECNL campaign on these boards that is suspected to be Richmond based. GA is trash until their clubs join ECNL.
Nah, nobody said GA doesn't have elite players. The difference between most of these leagues is depth. There is more depth, on average, in ECNL. You'll notice that ECNL only considers the competitive GA teams for expansion.
