My DD applied for 10th but we didn't get an email. Is there a different process for older grades?

Does anybody know what the cut-off was for grades? Did they take anything else into account such as which ward you live in?
There was no grade cut-off, 3.0 + GPA were all eligible to apply. The cut off was the top 500, maybe there were 500 kids with a 4.0. That's all that's been documented.
No, I know a number of kids who had less than a 4.0 that got an interview. Three of my son's friends. One just above a 3.6 so the cut-off was probably a 3.6XX something. The 4.0 situation is a mistake.
My point was that nobody really knows so, great that all those kids got interviews! Had there been 500 kids with 4.0 GPAs that applied, they would not have gotten one. Therefore, the point stands - nobody knows what the cut-off was for grades.
Yes, nobody knows the cut-off for grades but it wasn't a 4.0. It was somewhere between high 3.6 and 3.7 based on the kids I know (many) who received interviews. Walls did not receive 500 applications with a 3.9 or 4.0.
Was the 4.0 for the whole seventh grade year?

While I do think there has been talk of goals in diversifying the school, this year’s admissions are just a response to the pandemic and a way to narrow down the applicant pool without a test. They get at 1200 applicants consistently every year. They cannot possible interview everyone with a 3.0 or above.

I would email Walls admissions or admin right away. A 4.0 GPA should definitely get an interview.

If those were your student’s grades last year I would email Walls admin. A 4.0 GPA should 100% get an interview.
+1, we were expecting an interview based on grades and my kid got one. I would have inquired if she hadn't.

The cutoff was definitely higher than a 3.6 this year. Sorry for your kid.

The cut-off was something around a 3.7 (?) based on the 5 kids I know who got interviews.
