Anonymous wrote:If you're a single issue voter and its solely based on school reopening and the VA GOP nominates Amanda Chase, will you vote for her?
Think about that, you are about to give her 4 years in Richmond and your ONLY issue is a short term one that'll likely be remedied in August.

Total DB.
“We had a bill to cap tuition at $2,500 per semester until college students got face to face learning again.”
He wants to cap tuition? WTH? It costs more to open colleges. Kinda self-defeating.
“Today we #MarchForLife to not only celebrate life, but to serve as a reminder that all life is sacred— especially the unborn. “
“ If there was ever a poster child for why our 2nd Amendment right is sacred, it was the lawlessness of 2020.
I won’t allow radical liberals to strip us of our inalienable rights. When you give up even an inch, they take a mile.”
Typical GOP trash.
NP. Agree. Theses "single issue voter focused ONLY on school reopenings" posters are basically willing to install a far right wacko solely on the promise of reopening schools. HE is not a one issue candidate but they are one issue voters. Which is so blind of them that they'll deserve what they get, if they help elect him, and suddenly find he's just as focused on destroying abortion rights and ensuring guns are everywhere as he is focused on school reopenings.
Oh, yeah, they also are people who refuse to believe that their precious kids could spread an increasingly contagious virus to them (the parents), grandparents, etc. etc. I suspect a lot of these posters insist that "kids don't get sick, or dont' get very sick, from Covid" and that's all they focus on.

Talk about staking out a safe position.
No Republicans ever. They are bad for society.
Many voters are selfish and have no memory. They will forgive a republican who looks like their neighbor and who went to William and Mary.
I'm an equal opportunity voter - no matter what the person looks like - or their party - if they will open schools full time - they have my vote. That's unusual for me but I think the backbone of our society is public education.
Moms vote for their kids interests. I wish Dems got that. Unions are not looking out for kids.
Unions fight to boost pay and benefits for middle-class families and created the 40-hour week and the weekend. There is no movement more pro-family than that.
Those days are long gone, my friend. Now our unions are out to destroy our kids’ education and social lives.

He CAN'T open schools full time. He's just saying he wants to--an extremely popular position that he knows will get people to vote for him, even though it requires no actual work on his part as a candidate. Please think harder about what kind of governor he would actually be if elected.
I said I want to hear from all of them what they’ll do. I’m not automatically voting for this guy but this is my # issue to consider for the upcoming election. I would prefer a D gets it done but I am not against voting R if I have to.
This.
I'm a D. The battle over opening schools may cost D the governorships in VA and MD. They are on the wrong side.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I’m no political expert but I do feel like as a general matter - elections do go back and forth between D / R. I know VA has been blue lately but with 2 D Govs in a row (at least - I’m only coming up on living here 8 years soon), I think it would behoove the D candidates to pay attention to this schools issue. I don’t think the Ds have the next gubernatorial election in the bag with such a contentious issue looming.
OH yes they do.
VA is blue. Not going to change back.
GOP has made it's bed and they will split and it will be ugly.
