It’s not jealousy, it’s wisdom. Pay attention and you, too, shall have it one day.

I’m 41. I wish nothing but happiness for younger brides. I have a beautiful ring that I love, and I hope the same for them.

I hope for younger brides to be making a good decision about whom they choose to marry, to be entering into a (hopefully) lifelong commitment with their eyes wide open, and yes, that all of that leads to happiness. Hoping for them to have a beautiful ring that they love? Don’t really care.

Luckily, people don’t have to choose between these two things. Oddly, you can make a good, mature decision about who to marry, have a strong commitment, plan a sensible wedding, AND love your engagement ring that your spouse lovingly and excitedly selected for you. Ask me how I know.

Aw, I’m sorry about your ring. Hopefully you at least feel sure about the guy who have it to you.

But I know that lots of people do. I do like rings that don't have diamonds. I think those show more originality, which I can appreciate.

They marketed them in ancient Rome? Because that is how long engagement rings have been around.

People will judge me on the house I choose to buy, the car I choose to drive, the purse I choose to carry, the brands I choose to support, the engagement ring I choose to wear. I just don’t care- life it too short.
