The first and last sentence are not true although the ones in the middle may be. Perfume is big business, especially among young people.

Love's Baby Soft Musk was a popular first perfume.

Loves Baby Soft (from the ‘80’s) was the ultimate best first perfume scent for young adolescents.

One thing I really remember is cheap perfume that you could buy at drug stores--specifically I like "Electric Youth" (Debbie Gibson) "Night Rythem" (I don't know if it was made by Gloria Estefan, but they used her song in the commercials) and "Exclamation."
Speaking of commercials--they don't have them for cheap perfume/cologne anymore--even at Christmas! I remember the Stetson "easy for you" commercials being kind of a staple of the holiday season.
Anyway--are these cheap perfumes popular with tween/early teen girls anymore?
