This is really crazy.

I've never been skinny but I'm currently at the high end of my normal range. I know my husband hopes I can lose 10-15 pounds but it gets tougher as you get older. He certainly hasn't lost any of his physical interest in me. Thank Heavens!

My husband met me back in 2005 when I was somewhere between 115-120 (I'm 5'3"). I was a runner and went to TRX classes religiously. Now I don't work out much (small kids, demanding job...), have lost all that muscle, and last weighed in around 108 lbs. He claims to prefer my "softer" (i.e. skinnyfat) body now. I was happier with the other body though and am very much hoping to get back to that form. (No, I do not diet or watch calories.)

Maybe someone had already written this, but skinny can be a normal weight. The challenge is to broaden what is considered normal and aim for health.

I find I get the most looks, stares, and male attention at about a size 8. I think 140 at 5'5 I get appreciative glances everywhere I go. And I am also an apple shape, so it's not that I turn into an hour glass and have a tiny waist with giant boobs and butt- but of course everything grows proportionally.

I do think women have been fed a lie by the media about what men like.

To answer the actual questions - Yes, my DH does not like skinny, and neither did any of my exes. They also liked that I am not diet crazy and can actually enjoy eating with no guilt, thinking anything is "bad" or other weird attitudes towards food.

Agree that a lot of it is the mentality that accompanies (obsessiveness about food/exercise etc)

The 19.3 poster isn't underweight per se, but I would definitely consider "skinny". Most people posting their normal weight really do have healthy weights and I think they look best. But I looked up BMIs and a 24.9 for woman is the 30th percentile, so still you are probably skinny compared to the average American, though we're a pretty fat country. Personally, as a bisexual woman, I think women look best at 23-26 BMIs while also working out. They're curvy and soft, yet they're strong and I don't find them fat.
