Resurrecting this post since now parents are starting to talk about it. I also interpret this to be specifically for spectators. Does that mean that with the upcoming tournaments there can be no spectators? You will for sure have more that 25 parents total between both teams. I am not sure how you can split that up per team 12.5 spectators each.
My concern is how it will afftect drop off, if that is true. I am fine with not staying for the game, but would not drop my 11 year old off in the parking lot at a torunament and hope that he finds his field. I hope parents can bring the kids and then leave.
11 is old enough to navigate the soccer complex alone. Stop over parenting and holding your kids hand. My parents would drop us off at the mall at 11. We would spend hours there then get picked up at the end of the night.
Cool story, bro, but I'm not leaving my child in the parking lot of a giant soccer tournament in another state. Sorry you don't like that, but I'm not required to conform my life to render you happy. We'll try to arrange to meet up with the coach to get him to take the kids.

13. Recreational Sports
Indoor and outdoor recreational sports activities are permitted, provided participants and
organizers of recreational sports activities comply with the following requirements:
a. The total number of spectators cannot exceed the lesser of 30% of the occupancy load of the certificate of occupancy for the venue, if applicable, or 25 spectators per field. Races or marathons may have up to 250 participants, provided staggered starts separate runners into groups of 25 or less.
b. Conduct screening of coaches, officials, staff, and players for COVID-19 symptoms prior to admission to the venue/facility.
For more information on how to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure and spread associated with indoor and outdoor recreational sports activities, consult the Virginia
Department of Health’s “Considerations for Recreational Sports” webpage, which can be found here.

Not clear to me in reading this if the spectators are a different count than the players. That is a huge distinction. I read it as separate.
I suspect they mean no more than 25 spectators, as in coaches/parents/players congregating off the field (so, not including players actively playing).

I feel bad for saying this, but I really don't want to have to drive my kid an hour there there for an 8 am game, leave to kill time elsewhere, come back and get him, and then turn around and do the same thing for his 6pm game. I would prefer for it to cancel. I am sure that makes me selfish, but still.
Yes, incredibly selfish. These are experiences for your kid, not you. If he or she loves playing, imagine how they feel when one of their season's big events is canceled. But at least your day isn't inconvenienced.
Eh, go pound sand. I'm allowed to want to have some time to myself that is spent doing something other than sitting in a car. My husband is taking him, but frankly, he is old enough to start to understand that there are human beings other than him with their own needs and feelings. If you don't want to impart that to your kid, that's on you.
To be fair, you do sound very needy.

Loudoun parent here. I hope this isn’t the case. Last Spring our club said they’d fold it another lockdown were to occur. I pray to God this never comes to fruition. I’ve sent emails and called Richmond.
Praying for your extinction
