Some age groups haven't even started to make offers yet. A few age groups had huge turnouts (40-50 players), so I'm sure they are still trying to figure out number of teams and field space and possibly additional coaches.

My son's coach told him that unfortunately, he would likely not get an offer this year due to increased interest from players outside of ASA. It was disappointing, since DS played in previous years. The coach was nice about it, but still disappointing.
I'm sorry to hear that. I have heard the St. James and Fairfax Sports Plex are both doing teams if you wanted to try there.
I would say if you don't care about how strong the team is and just looking to be on a team, St. James will likely give you the spot. They had a very low turnout at their tryouts. I've known kids got the offer even know they didn't make it to any of the tryout but were offered the spots because they were on a travel teams at other clubs.
Their tryouts felt unorganized..... Alexandria is much stronger teams.

My son tried out but I doubt he has a chance because he has never played futsal and usually does basketball. But I am wondering if they had more interest than usual, similar to my son.Anonymous wrote:
They are still trying out some of the age groups, so if he is among those ages, he should continue trying out. They usually wait to issue offers until all tryouts in an age/gender group are complete.
No, tryouts ended last Wednesday. We knew it was a long shot since some of his teammates trying out had done this for several years, and we have not due to basketball. Honestly, my son is not super into futsal the way he is soccer, I just thought that it would be a fun thing for him to do since basketball is cancelled. Oh well.
Our tryouts ended Wed. as well and we haven't heard anything either. I'm thinking the delay is probably due to them still figuring out the details for outdoor futsal before offers go out or perhaps they are still trying to lock-down use of all the outdoor courts they want with the city of Alexandria.
The offers have been sent out. I personally know kids on girls side have received the offer over the weekend. I'm sure they are on rolling basis and the offers likely were sent to those that are their 1st choice.
You mean the red team? That would make sense. If you mean no offer at all, I don't expect my son to get an offer, but it would be very strange if his friend went from the white futsal ID team last year to no offer at all this year.
I'm not sure if they sent out for both but girls I know that received the offer are both on Red teams in a different age groups.
