That said, his time has come and gone. It's time for him to pass the torch. He's been around for so long and he's lost his edge, and it's apparent that he can't manage at the executive level and has been much more successful as a rabblerouser than a manager. Based on what I hear from those around him, he's ancient, he's exhausted, he's fed up, he hates the job and the current council, and I hope he retires instead of running again for Executive, let alone governor. I don't have the heart to vote against him but couldn't vote for him either. I'd probably just sit it out. I hope he chooses to retire and endorses a progressive younger candidate to carry the torch.
Elrich is the Bernie Sanders of Montgomery County politics - I am with him ideologically, but he doesn't get things done, he doesn't make enough allies, and he needs to retire.
You just roasted the guy, but don't have the heart to vote against him?
The county is in a spiral! No school for 300 days. Millions of undisbursed CARES Act money. Approved overtime/hazard pay on the incorrect assumption that FEMA would pick up the tab.
I'm not even going to talk about his idealogy (though he is too far to left for me even, as a Dem), he's completely incompetent as a manager. He just can't organize or get stuff done.
I'm voting for Hans next time.
