McLean can put those recruiting results up against any team in the DMV.

I would say every club in the DMV can say the exact same thing. McLean is not special. And neither is South Florida or some low level ACC team. Unless they can claim a UNC, UVA, etc... they are not special in any way. We could post all the club commits here side by side and no one would be able to pick the club. Just be proud of your kid and stop living THEIR life.

This is just false. Please post the club commits and feel free to compare. Do it year by year, or over 5 years or 10 years or 15 years?

You can keep trying to downplay McLean but it is not hard to hit you with facts. McLean is special. Why don't you talk about how special your club is rather then trying to attack another club? Can we not have 2 or 3 special clubs in the area?

LOL. Why does the truth that mclean is no better than the other area ECNL and GA clubs hurt you so? Truth sucks sometimes, but it is what it is.

You either have mental issues that don't allow you to reason or think logically or you are emotionally disturbed and feel the need to harass people.

I think there is enough information in the above posts to confirm that McLean is probably the best club in the area at placing players at top college programs. FCV, Bethesda and MUFC have great track records as well but you are hard pressed to find a program that has 14 players that are playing for or will playing for 2019 NCAA qualifying teams.

you are basing this on one year of effort. McLean typically commits to Ivy Leagues etc since they draw from very high income areas. In general, they do commit a lot of girls to D1 teams that are far lower than most of the other clubs in the area.

If McLean players commit to Ivy Leagues while the other club players commit to academically doubtful soccer universities, I would definitely want my DD to go to McLean. I cannot understand why anyone would choose a university based on soccer.

I guess I’m confused about what we’re considering a top college program? For McLean, they are rich people who will pay full tuition at an ivy, but they need the soccer to get admitted. Ivy League soccer teams are not top college soccer teams. So if you are OK with a $300k bill for college, McLean may work for you. If you want better soccer, maybe some money and a variety of academic options, they may not be the best fit. As an aside, nobody should chose a university based on soccer alone, or academics alone, or reputation alone. I find it hard to believe that people would think kids are solely picking a school for soccer.

Sorry but your logic makes zero sense. Of All the recruits from McLean, between 10-15% attend Ivy League schools or other programs with similar competitive admissions (MIT, Navy, etc.) and no one is playing at McLean to play get into an Ivy League program. Most of the girls who attend Ivies can play at a range of top soccer programs but want the balance between academics and soccer that the Ivies offer. Also, Dartmouth, Brown, Yale, Harvard and Princeton are all considered competitive soccer programs.

Most kids I know are not choosing schools based solely on soccer. They are picking schools that strike the right balance. And to be honest, you can't go wrong either way if you are going to UNC, Duke, UVA, WF, GU, UW, PSU or Navy to play women's soccer.

Sure most kids are picking between UNC, Duke, UVA, WF, GU, UW, PSU or Navy to play women's soccer. Get real. There may be one girl who is picking between those programs and it is not the rest of the team. It is the one star player. Follow a college program for a few years. See how many freshmen are on the team. Look at desirable program with a big named school. These program pull from across the country and oversea. The women playing have very impressive soccer and academics resumes.

Some of those are academically doubtful soccer schools

the folks who accept offers from UVA are the most guilty of this...accept the low offer to help the kid get into a competitive low cost school with a nice reputation. then warm that bench.

I’m guessing I’d soccer gets a kid into Yale the parents and the kid consider it a good result regardless of the quality of the soccer.

The Ivy League is not for everyone. I have 3 soccer playing children. I cannot afford 3 Ivy League educations.
