Once again, the Tesla cultists are missing the point. There's so much more to driving a car than straight-line performance.

Although Teslas is pretty impressive in one regard: they've managed to make the experience of driving a car that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds boring.

Agree - I think a fun car is more about handling than straight-line performance. Really, how often are you in a situation where you'll go 0-60 in 3 seconds. If you do that from a stop light, you're asking for a speeding ticket.

I have to agree with this, too. In this area, it's almost impossible to drive 2 miles before you get to a stop light/stop sign/congestion. Besides, if my car were really that nice, I'd take my time to enjoy it and drive it slow. Why be in such a hurry?

If I can pull it off, this will be my next car.

I saw one of the new Corvettes this weekend in up-County MoCo. Damn, I want one. Makes me feels like a classless American but who cares? The grey Boomer driving it was having a lot more fun than me in my Outback with a screaming baby in the backseat

Tesla has a lot of continual upgrades and even boosts more power in updates. It's like getting a new car every month. All other cars are trash.

There's no amount of software updates that can make a Tesla look better, sound better, more comfortable, or turn it into a convertible. Tesla does some things really well, but a mid-life crisis car is about irrational excitement. Maybe when Tesla was still a fairly new brand, it had enough uniqueness to be a mid-life crisis car. Not any more.
