Funny we live in Annapolis and know plenty of kids at DC privates and the northern Baltimore privates.

Over the years I have met / known people who lived in the northern park of AA and commuted to the Baltimore privates, including from Pasadena waterfront to St. Pauls. But it is a long and tiring commute. I don't doubt people do it but it's draining after a while and I can't imagine that many people do it. A few, sure, but come on, commuting from Annapolis to the DC privates like St. Albans or Sidwell is even worse. Might as well just go to boarding school.

Acknowledging that Niche isn't always accurate, this is what they say, and it feels right. There is absolutely no way at least 20% of the students are African American.

Gilman runs a bus from Annapolis. Other Annapolis boys at Landon. It’s a long commute but nice to live by the water with a dock.

I'm not sure what Indian Creek School USED to be. But from what I've seen and experienced in 2023, it's excellent.

That might have been true once upon a time, but Severn currently has a large, well supported black population.

I was thinking the same thing. What recent issues has the Key School had? When I think of Annapolis private schools, I think of Key.

One recent example thing was a teacher that lived down the street selling info to Russia.

Honestly for what you pay there facilities are awful.

Come on - how is the idiotic teacher and her husband selling sub secrets anything that Key can control?? (not Russia, some S American country)

They could control it by paying fair salaries. When I moved to the area with 10 years of teaching experience, a master's degree plus 20 credits and certification in multiple content areas, I was offered a position at Key and was shocked at the number. Basically, they offered me a first-year teacher's salary. Even after they budged a little, their offer was still $20K less than the next offer I got from another private in the area.

Many of the Baltimore schools have routes from Annapolis. I wax surprised but several schools have buses to the area.

Can't imagine spending over two hours commuting each day could be a benefit for a child's education, but whatever works for those families, I guess!

DS decided on Spalding also his choice after 3 years in the lower school at St. Mary’s. The culture can be hard to deal with if your not in the IN crowd.

New president has been a total disaster for the school. First time as being head of school and it shows. He is more like a puppet for his secretary who really runs the school.
