We looked at futsal last year and found a mix between futsal specific clubs and soccer clubs that offer futsal. Any thoughts on which club offers the best training without paying an arm and leg. I am just looking to utilize the winter months to get DDs some strong footskill work. U16 and u15.
No Puma Elite was Gus. He is Great Falls for Futsal this year.
I keep hearing this Gus guys name for futsal...why is he so good and why does he move club to club each year??
He moves around cuz he’s always trying to make more money He played pro in Brazil. He’s a good technical coach but only really cares about his pocket book. So, don’t hire as a long term outdoor coach, as he’ll only show up half the time, but for a single futsal season or as a side trainer, sure, why not. Your kid will learn.

They cited some concerns of indoor sports etc. All legitimate. My perspective was that it would be safe if hosted in a larger venue vs an elementary school gym however the counter argument was that ventilation in general would be the issue vs size of venue.
Just curious what other parents are doing? Assuming some of the risk? Are parents who are letting their child play enforcing facemasks while playing etc? Are some parents opting out of any indoor sports?
Really just looking at this from a indoor sports perspective. Not trying to get into a covid debate.

I did it when I was a kid. Messi did it. Maradona did it. Pete did it. But, hey let’s listen to this clown who just wants to take your money.
It's cold AF during futsal season, and indoor Ys are generally taken up with basketball and other stuff. Where do you recommend that kids do this "free play futsal" you are advocating for? And are you volunteering to organize kids who want to play there all at the same time? If so, great. Let us know what court and when.
I'm sure you wouldn't show. I love the people who talk about pick up and then never can be bothered to take their kid.
We don't just go, we organize pick up games for my child's team and friends. Some people show, some don't. But we're getting tired of having to do that 100 percent of the time, so we're going to start just limiting to 2 or so kids to do drills, unless someone else takes a turn. But, pretty sure you are just complaining and not doing the same. Oh well.

It ain't that cold (anymore, that's to climate change - joke). Heck, half the elite teams around here practice outdoor in Feb. Also, knew a guy that set up a pick up league at the local YMCA. It worked nicely. Lots of latino kids came to play as they could afford it. But, yes do what you need to do to help your kid. I'd honestly like to see a setup as follows if it has to be somewhat organized: three sessions a week. 2 practices with coaching focused on individual foot skills mostly (vs. team concepts and trying to "win" a game) and then supervised (coaches) pick up games rotating players in and out. No set teams week to week, just times for the right amount of players to show up to get their hour or two of play in. Creativity and confidence emphasized vs. the coach getting a win or these pay to play tournaments, for a meaningless trophy, etc.
Our Club resumes 3-night per week for (every team in the Club) practices mid-January every winter. My kids have been out there in 28 Degrees, dark, at 9pm at night. It doesn't bother them. In fact, they get hot if they have too many under armour gear/layers on.
What club, if you don't mind me asking?
