I plan to let the kids go and I plan to pass out candy at our house or leave bags out front and sit at our front steps.

You can let them go but my house is going to be completely dark. This is taking unnecessary chances.

+1 And no, I'm not prepackaging bags of candy. I'll be handing it out. Don't like it, keep on walking.

Same here.

Uff...no one cares what you are doing in Florida.

Not even close. Arlington. You'll probably want to avoid our neighborhood then.

If I saw that sign I would totally ring your bell.

You can send your kids up to my porch if you want to but they ain't gonna get shit from me.
If they're lucky they may catch a contact and really have a Happy Halloween.

Anonymous wrote:My kids never ate the candy that they collected from trick or treating because people normally gave out cheap candy and my kids are discerning. They always gave the candy to their friends. We always had better candy for them at home.

I won't miss the candy, we will.miss the dressing up and walking with groups of friends at night.

What's the better candy?

This is what I was thinking
We are new here and I don’t want people to think we are being rude but I’m not interested in coming into contact with potentially 100 kids

It's rare for children to spread it. Learn science.

If we did trick or treating, I would. My kids are at high risk for OCD, so I don't cater to others' unhealthy anxiety around them.

Yes, we plan to decorate and leave out candy, but not answer the door. Problem solved. It's person to person transmission that's the problem.

Ha, if you're serious about this that's asking to get "tricked" way more than just keeping your lights off would. No one will care if you don't want to hand out candy, but if your'e going to go to the trouble of being weirdly prim about it... well, I can see people sacrificing a bit of their precious TP stash to decorate your place for you

I'm not giving out candy either, but I'm not going to thumb my nose at the neighborhood about it
