+1. I miss it so much. Also the BD’s (Mongolian Grill) - what a great concept.

There is one in Crown.

Louisiana Express near the euromotors
Ricky's Rice Bowl
Grapeseed
Cafe Deluxe

And the old Rio Grande (when it was on Fairmount Ave. and you got large sizzling platters of chicken, peppers, and onions and endless bowls of warm flour tortillas and didn't have to track down a server busy doing tableside quac or a chocolate piñata for anything because the servings were plentiful! )

Now I have to add Momo Chicken.

I loved Momo so much. The same family has another outpost in SW DC. But I so hope they’ll find a way to get back to Bethesda someday.

The Bean Bag at Old Georgetown and democracy. Delicious tuna salad sandwiches. It might still be there but it changed ownership and the sandwiches were never the same.

Geppettos.

Jaleo (I like Spanish Diner but it’s not Jaleo. Had dinner there last week and it was maybe 10% full).

The restaurant behind the CVS across from Bradley Shopping Center, whose name I can’t remember. Casual American food.

Satsuma! My favorite down-to-earth, cozy Japanese restaurant. I hate the Asian restaurants in echo-y, noisy, industrial decor places. This one had carpet and a separate room with tatami for their table cooking.

If anyone knows another with the same ambience, please share!

Oh, I didn’t realize it closed. What’s there now?

I miss Satsuma too-- not sure anything has replaced it yet.

PP looking for other cozy Japanese restaurants-- have you tried Aji Nippon on Arlington across from Strosniders? Or maybe Tako Grill.

I liked Satsuma— there is something in the window about what’s coming— thinknit was maybe a fusion place?

Aji Nippon is cozy, seems family-run. I like Tako Grill but they switched to all take out plus some Japanese groceries during the pandemic and not really sure if they ever switched back?

Steamers. Think that’s still a vacant lot?
