Haven't read the entire thread but that would be my reaction also.
My daughter is 12, and even at that age I can't imagine my husband slapping her butt in passing. Imagine doing that to a college graduate.

Also unskilled. What is he trying to communicate? Trying to connect with them? Have fun? Geez there are a thousand ways to do that without slapping them on the butt. Do better, pal.

How do they react? What does their body language convey? Can you simply ask them how they feel about it? Personally I would hate it, but not speak up. I would also want to knee him in the nuts every time he did it.

As a woman whose grandfather used to do this to her it is incredibly uncomfortable, gross, infuriating, and inappropriate. It’s so gross that the odds of a teenaged girl speaking up and saying that she doesn’t like it are extremely unlikely due to the shame and embarrassment. So ignore all of the statements from people who are saying well how do the kids feel about it, because they may not feel comfortable sharing how they feel. So he needs to just stop. And everyone doing this needs to just stop.
