Same. I think we got rid of those VHS videos of me being asked what I wanted with my sister in utero before routine and accurate ultrasounds. I was like "BROTHER! I hope it is a BOY! I do NOT want a sister!"

I got a sister. She's...fine. Not a nightmare but not someone I would call a friend.

No, quite the opposite unfortunately.

Aw, me too!

I have two sisters, I'm in the middle. Oldest one treated me terribly growing up and still does. Younger one has autism so there is a limit to having a close, personal relationship. In a strange way, it's nice to see that many other people on this thread don't consider their sisters best friends. I don't feel so alone in that.

So glad to have both of my sisters. I don’t want to imagine life without them.

No. We haven't talked in a decade.

I don’t know what’s it like NOT to have a sister.

Mine drives me absolutely batty, but...she also cracks me up with her great sense of humor and would rush to my side if ever needed it. So. People aren’t perfect. I’m glad for my sister.

My sister is a well educated nit wit. She is one of those idiots you see on tv that goes to a family reunion (inlaws) during a pandemic. Think around 75 who rent pontoon boats etc...

Same, lol. I tried to be close but as soon as she had kids there was no room for friends or family. I do the obligation call every now and then, but she has made her bed. Her husband ended up dying and one kid moved to another country. Now she only has the one grown child, but she's busy with her family so I guess it's that Karma thing.

I now have 3 daughters. I am so thankful they have each other.

Different details ( I don't have 3 daughters) but same story. I'm sorry for your loss, pp.
Fwiw, I have a brother. We have a nice relationship, but our personalities are just different. Even though we got closer after she died, it is very different.

I wish I had a sister. Never had a bond with my brother.

My sister is one of my best friends. She is 2.5 years older, and we fought like lunatics as kids, teenagrs, and even young adults really. We became very close, though, and I cannot imagine life without her. We are now 42 and 45.
