My tiny rescue mutt might bite. He's been through a lot. Not a pit bull. Not a dangerous breed. He takes priority, sorry.

No, dogs are a huge responsibility. I would only get one if my child showed interest, so it would be their responsibility. And pit bulls are just too big for them to handle, along with with restrictions in housing options it would impose.

Yes. I would date or marry someone with a "dangerous" breed if they were taking good care of their dog.

Would I leave a child unsupervised with ANY breed of dog? No. I have a dog. I love dogs. I don't care how safe your dog is or how safe the breed is or how small your dog is. Young kids need to be supervised with dogs. Even a small dog could end up biting a toddler who runs at it or falls on it.

Absolutely not. We were walking on the beach recently with our toddler when an unleashed pittbull ran at us barking and growling aggressively. It’s owners clearly did not have sufficient control of the dog. IMO when a pittbull kills someone the owner should go to jail for murder. I suspect that would reduce the enthusiasm for owning pittbulls.

Like I said in a previous post, little yappy dogs are known to be aggressive and bite noses off of you get too close...

Not to mention that this behavior to a houseguest is actually a form of aggression. It's one thing to sit/snuggle with the pack but to do so with a stranger shows a lack of training and an attempt at dominance. Imagine what would happen if the poor houseguest was not ok being sat on by a strange dog? Hope that goes well if the dog isn't ok with the guest drawing a boundary.

+1 All dogs bite. Not all dogs can do much damage. Some dogs were bred to kill. I would never want a dog like that around, and I also wonder about people who feel the need to have a dangerous dog. Not my style.
