I, like many others, am new to this forum but I'd like to share my experience in hopes that it will be useful to others in similar situations. I also truly enjoy reading everyone's success stories

My DH and I have been TTC for nearly six years. I am 36 years old and was beginning to lose hope in our chances to concieve. We had been to a couple of OBGYNs that would go no further than to say we were experiencing unexplained fertility. We were repeatedly told that this just happens to some couples so we should basically learn to live with it and keep trying on our own. We finally made it to an OBGYN that tried three unsuccessful IUIs. She suggested a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, to which we agreed, and found that I had mild endometriosis. She removed the endo and twice within the following year we concieved. We lost both pregnancies, however

We finally ventured out and found a Reproductive Endocrinologist and decided to take a chance. He was wonderful! He understood our concerns and empathized with our struggles and heartaches throughout our journey. He ran what seemed like a million tests but was able to find our issue!!! And it is correctable!

I have a gene mutation that stops my body from absorbing folic acid and producing progestrone. He also found some things identified in the labs that led him to believe my endometriosis had returned. He prescribed Folgard and a specific Prenatal which I have been taking for nearly one month. My skin has cleared and the discoloration I had along my jaw line is nearly gone. I have more energy and was able to loose nearly 15 pounds during that month. He also suggested another hysteroscopy. Again, we agreed. He found and removed the endometriosis as well as a polyp that the OBGYN had missed.

My surgery was nearly two weeks ago and I feel so much better than I did after the first surgey. There has been little pain, just mild discomfort. He seems absolutely confident that we will be able to conceive on our own within a couple of cycles.

DH and I are ecstatic to start trying!!! I am thankful that we took the chance on the RE and we are anxiously looking forward to our BFP!!!!

I recently went off of birth control in January because my husband and I started TTC. In February, I bleed for 21 out of 28 days. I scheduled a doctors appointment for the beginning of March. I saw a nurse midwife instead of my regular gynecologist because I could not get into the gynecologist in a timely manner. The nurse told me I was having a reaction to coming off BC and to "just give it a few months" for my hormones to get back on track. She also said "some girls just have irregular periods. It's just who you are." UGH!!! All of March and April I patiently waited and the bleeding did not get any better. I finally made an appointment with my regular gynecologist. She ordered blood work and a vaginal ultrasound. All of my blood work came back great. My hormones were all normal. The ultrasound showed that I had a polyp on my uterine wall. I am scheduled to see a specialist next week for a consultation in hopes of having it removed soon so we can start TTC again. I also have had horrible acne the past few months, something I have NEVER had! I was glad to read that other people are having the same issue and that having the polyp removed seemed to solve the acne issue. I can't express how grateful I am to all you ladies for sharing your stories. I will post again after it is removed.

Hey it's me I got my hysteroscopy and polypectomy done today they used Mac anesthesia which worked perfectly well just a bit sleepy and wobbly but one strong suggestion my RE had given me this medicine cytotec which caused a lot of cramping ,bleeding and vomiting so I got v drained a day before the procedure this medicine is to dilate the cervix,my advice is not to take it but I think it works differently for everyone please pray for me that I'm able to conceive soon, baby dust to you all..the procedure is not painful at all so don't worry I was kinda a bit nervous as this was the first surgery for me as well

Hey I went to RE she found out 2 polyps obstructing the uterine cavity I m scheduled for surgery next month hope after polyp removal I'm able to conceive anyone with the same story?. We have been trying to conceive for 6 yrs but were lazy to go get checked..

I'm not understanding why they are just seeing the polyp now? We went in after 6 months of TTC and the very first thing they did was schedule a vaginal ultrasound and a sonohysterogram. Through these, they found a fibroid that needed to be removed. I am really surprised they waited until you were preparing for IVF to do these procedures??

WIth this aside, I would definitely do the removal, and then maybe TTC with the IUI for a couple of cycles - see if the polyp was causing issues. If still nothing - then maybe get back on the IVF track. What recommendation did your doctor give?

I am 37 year old and never gave much thought to children. I decided it was time and went to see a specialist. After taking my history, she found it strange that I'd never been pregnant, even accidently, given that condoms and the rythm method were my only form of birth control. She did tests on me and everything came back normal, so I purchased my sperm and was ready for artificial insemination. A few days before my scheduled insemination, my doc found polyps/fibroids. I am scheduled for a polypectomy on the 26th of this month and will just have to see what happens after that. I want to thank you all for this site and the information it provided me. I am feeling much better.

Amazing to read all of these. I currently sit at home recovering from a polyp removal...and recovering just means sleeping and taking motrin. I NEVER thought that my sudden acne breakout at the end of last year would be tied to my ridiculously heavy periods and the polyp but I'm guessing (and hoping) that it was. My DH and I really haven't been trying, but we look to do so as soon as the doc says I'm able. I hope everything works out ok. Reading all of your success stories is certainly helping!

Hello everyone. I have the same problem like most of you. We have been TTC for the past 3 years. I checked my hormones, my husband checked his sperm count and everythins seemed fine, until i started spotting between my periods. My doctro said that it might be my ovulation and I calmed down, however, it didn't stop. I got worried and insisted on HSG, during wich the ditected multiple polyps that were removed with the help of operetive hysteroscopy last week. I am still recovering. I hope that it will help us to get pregnant. It has been so frustrating. Has anyone know when is the best time to try to concieve- 1st cycle? 2nd?

hi i was diagnosed with pcos 10yrs ago and suffer with irregular pretty much no existant periods. i managed to concieve and gave birth to my son in 2010 with the use of clomid. i am now trying trying to concieve again. i had a scan and they suspected polyps. i had a hystroscopy yesterday which confirmed i had utrine polyps i am now of a waiting list to have them removed. it is nice to read people storys and knowing there is hope i could get pregnant post polyp removal. good luck to eveyone else
