I am not surprised that CN didn’t up their pay. There are plenty of other BIPOCs they can hire at the lower rate. Publishing is famous for having long hours and crappy pay. You do it to build your resume and move on.

All three have enough a following now that they could start their own YOUTUBE channels or IG influencing with great success.

I enjoyed their appearances on BA but I won’t be surprised when it starts up again with new fresh faces of color.

Claire physically repulses me. She only gets so many views because she has a clickbait series on Bon Appetit. Any fake “pro chef” could do that same series for Bon Appetit.

Bon Appetit just didn't care. They wanted to take Sohla from making $50,00 - $60,000 a year, to $70,000 - $80,000. And with 3 videos a month at anywhere from $625 a video to $1,000 a video she would have added an additional $3,000 a month.

Contract negotiations began with Condé Nast Entertainment — the publisher's video arm — in mid-June, the talent said. El-Waylly received a new version of her contract on June 8, she told Business Insider. It offered a $20,000 raise; El-Waylly previously said she was "insulted and appalled" at that offer, as other stars were said to earn much more over time in per-episode fees.

The contract battles for Krishna and Martinez lasted five weeks, they said. Both received identical contracts at different times that reflected a new pay structure: a $1,000 day rate for hosted videos, $625 for videos in which other talent members made an appearance of two minutes or longer, and $0 for videos in which their appearances were shorter than two minutes. The contract was reviewed by Business Insider.

I was really hoping for a better outcome from this and sad that Bon Appetit won't just pay these people a quality salary.
