The Governor really needs to clarify things this week. If the State is going to send their economy to the toilet, at least do it in a way that actually protects public health.
I’m reading that camp thread, too. I highly doubt that out-of-state campers will be able to quarantine at camp. I think the hotel manager I spoke with was sincere in telling me the 2 week hotel reservation I made to quarantine at his Marriott hotel (Residence Inn) would work out. I think that the situation is changing so swiftly that they can only do the best they can. If anything, I bet the 2 week quarantine for out of staters will be lifted or reduced at some point.

Will be interesting to see if that changes.
Yes, I spoke with the hotel directly after booking. Our 2-week reservation begins mid-June and is allowed at that time as far as that hotel manager knew. Right now, they don’t allow quarantining and hotel rooms are only for emergency personnel.

It seems like it would enable rule breakers to break the rules and cause rule followers to stay home.
I consider myself a rule follower. But here’s the thing. We live in upstate NY where there were very few Covid cases to begin with. On our drive to Maine, we’ll bring food with us. If we need to use the bathroom, we’ll pull off to a deserted area in the woods. We’ll overnight at my parents’ empty vacation house on the way.
We’ve been socially isolating this whole time. Never got Covid, don’t have it now. We rented a secluded house on a lake. We’ll bring our own groceries. So I don’t see why we shouldn’t be able to drive to Acadia to go hiking occasionally. We’ll wear masks and try to avoid others as much as possible.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Given that there will openly be no enforcement, and hotels can take reservations of less than 14 days, this seems to be confusing, disruptive, economically damaging, and with likely very little benefit to the public health situation.
I hope the Governor provides some clarity over the next couple weeks.
Yes exactly!
This is why I said it was frustrating that there is so much conflicting info.
A bunch of articles I read (all Maine newspapers) said the 2 week quarantine thing was phased to end July 1. Idk where they got that from.
