It’s almost comical how easily ppl are manipulated by media coverage over this stuff - clearly ppl were getting complacent so they had to rile ppl up to fear status again. And I’m a democrat and didn’t vote for trump, but I’m as embarrassed at the far left panic police as I am the far right COVID deniers
Same here.
I’m so bored with the politicizing of a pandemic that has killed over 70,000 Americans. It’s boring, guys. The whole “blame the media” parroting is ridiculous.
I take advice from my kid’s pediatrician and the CDC. We’re taking all precautions. No hysteria - simple common sense and courtesy.
+1, except it’s now almost 90,000 dead Americans.

Ageee, the people who are freaking out are just extremely risk adverse and prefer not to rely on statistics.
Worth noting that there was also a fear that the original SARS led to Kawasaki. Later research concluded was that it was present in kids who had SARS to the same exact percent it was present in all kids.

I’m not being paranoid or excessively cautious or risk averse. We have almost no information to go on. Unlike other countries with robust contact tracing and testing, here it’s a crapshoot.
I worry about two things: (1) that another wave will hit in the next month or so due to people becoming complacent as things begin to open, or (2) that another wave doesn’t hit right away and people say “I told you the experts were wrong!” and then everything fully reopens and brings on an even bigger second wave.
