Okay, let’s force the pharmacy to shut down the gift shop area and restrict what hardware stores can sell. Happy now?

I have no idea why you think this issue is particular to Virginia, it’s a strange combination of myopia and paranoia.

A sweeping statement that has no basis in facts.

Many of the "red states" are testing more than "blue states." And, their infection rate is still lower.

Sure, I'll go to an anonymous message board and click on a link. What could go wrong?

Are you OK? You might be too afraid to be on the internet if you can’t recognize a Politico link.

“ I think you'll see landscapers, other outdoor workers (pest control, pool maintenance), low density service industry (car repair), and food spots open up soon. They will just need to ensure they have the protocols in place to maintain strict social distancing.”

Several of those services have already been open and never closed.

What’s a stand alone gift shop? I’m guessing you’re talking about Cherrydale?

This is pretty amazing

78% of REPUBLICANS say the stay-at-home orders either "Are about right" or "Don't go far enough." Only 22%- about 1 in 5 Republicans say they "go to far."

I am glad to see *most* republicans have their heads screwed on. Now if we could just get some of the GOP leadership to focus...

Politico is a pretty well known national/international publication. It's not like Zerohedge or The Federalist.

That is about 76% of the US GDP.

IF those states are all in pacts among themselves and with each other, it doesn't leave very much for the rest, right?

So sure, let's continue to divide with the rhetoric as Sen McConnell seems to want to do, and as the OP seems to want to do, and let's see where MS/LA/AL/OK/SC all end up. Especially during hurricane and tornado seasons.

I'd rather have all those above listed states join Canada as one. Make a new superpower and let the inbred hicks in red states to have what they always wanted: a neo-confederate, theocratic, economic wasteland where they are free to be as racist, misogynist, and anti-science as they want, free from the evil Socialism and government handouts that are the tax dollars from blue states propping them up.

Let's lose the vile taker states.

As it is everywhere. The hate is because she is a democrat, a woman and a possible VP choice.

Their actions during the outbreak WILL be scrutinized, and it seems Whitmer's been a smidge more arbitrary about what is and isn't allowed during her states's shutdown (don't get me wrong, there's been some conservatives trying to make her look bad, but there is enough there there.)

Based on what? The restrictions in MI are far less than OH or MD. She is getting castigated as a political play by the right wing echo chamber.

This. Thank you.

It is because she is a potential VP candidate

She's really not a viable choice.
And, her status as a possible pick has nothing to do with criticism over her ridiculously arbitrary decision regarding lock down and her decision to hire Democratic groups to do contact tracing.

Criticize Jared and Trump for hiring Cambridge Analytica for a massive State Department contract covering domestic surveilance and data collection in the first months of the administration and then I might take this seriously.
