Tend to agree here. IMO, as an FCV parent, in order to prevent a mass exodus of their top players, they need to go on an ECNL or bust campaign. EDP isn't going to cut it. Anything other than ECNL, at least on the girls side doesn't make much sense if you truly care about the players. Let's also not forget the the St James is not much more than a gym on steroids, which is closed right now. Who knows how they will look financially post-covid. That said, it could be that whatever move FCV makes could be temporary if STJ decides to start shedding some of these types of assets.

Maybe the other clubs were more in the know. Or maybe the FCV leadership is planning to jump ship and are too busy investigating their own options to worry about the girls..

DA clubs did not do this to the players. Players/parents are not upset at their DA club.

Disagree there. Other top national clubs like SD Surf had a plan and executed it. FCV did not. The club and its leadership are at fault for failing to line up a spot with ECNL.

FCV is lucky that youth soccer is shut down right now.

Can other ECNL teams sign their players on May 1?

Absolutely. No one is returning calls or emails from non-DA parents.

United doesn’t play DA, so how does this matter for United?

Wrong - some of the United players are PT DA too. So they absolutely should have told ALL of the FCV parents, not just the current DA families. It really does effect the entire club since they don't have a feeder/player dev program as previously stated multiple times on here. Pretty sad way to run a small club where everyone knows everyone else...

FCV will be ECNL - out of Springfield (TSJ) not Loudoun. Currently there is no competing ECNL league near Springfield.

BRYC is no kidding right down the street. FCV is not getting ECNL, because ECNL has not offered them a spot. This is the hopeful optimism. FCV appeared to be doing well in DA, problem is, ECNL doesn't exist to save clubs. Their ECNL clubs will soak up the best players in the area.

If you want to play in the top leagues, that's ECNL. Be prepared for a very competitive environment to earn a spot. And one more time: FCV WILL NOT BE ECNL.

Best thing for FCV is to have BRYC absorbs them and have BRYC take on their top 2 or 3 coaches.

Why would Loudoun based kids drive to BRYC when Loudoun Soccer Park is three miles from Evergreen?

Because Loudoun Soccer's training is abysmal. The whole reason FCV became a thing is because Loudoun's training and system is abysmal.

It matters to us because without the income to the club from DA teams, who knows if we even still have a club.

Yes, they don’t care about the non-DA or “part time” DA kids. You should already know this by your experience. If it has taken you until now with the lack of a virtual meeting discussion on the topic to realize this, you aren’t paying attention.

You just aren’t at the cool kids table. Don’t be a nut hugger like the other guy.

Why?

It’s not to be supportive lol that’s for sure! I want FCV parents to blow up the ass hats worlds of the crazy people praying for them to fail on this forum. I hope nothing happens to your kids and their is a good solution for them. I am sorry your kids, especially in the older age groups are going through this. It will not be easy on them to have to leave a team they have been on for so long.

A youth club and parent but hugger. That is RICH! Reminds me of the kids in middle school who would suck up to the popular kids at the lunch table.

Maybe the dude who keeps saying stuff about the cool kids table on here is right about us Soccer and youth soccer in general being run as an extension of grade school.
