bit confused - is distance learning happening today -but two hours late - or not at all - for Middle Schools - seem to have conflicting messages - county saying 2 hour delay and teacher saying it's not happening

I had kids sign in as themselves and make their avatar dick pics. I kicked them out. They came back. This was a multi-level problem. Some teachers had no issue, others had way more than I did. What baffles me, though it shouldn’t, is parent response. We should all be condemning how students acted not FCPS. This isn’t the same as logging in a bunch of professionals who would be scared to lose their job. These kids aren’t scared because nothing will happen. We will just have to retool, and they know it.
And before you start, I emailed the parent. The response “What do you expect?”
I hope every parent on DCUM is reading this. All of you who attack the teachers, the school systems, etc. but don't accept responsibility for your own kid.

I teach middle school. We had live office hours yesterday where this same kind of mess was happening. It’s both MS and HS.

I am a middle school teacher LIVE classes started today. Some teachers had dry runs, but the reason the county has the delay is because of what was happening in high school classes.

Those kids have been home with their parents a whole month. You'd think they'd be overflowing with family values right now. Like, what the hell?! They're at home acting like complete cretins. I only wish you could see some of the comments and names I saw.
The chat doesn’t show in the recording. My principal makes us record each session Incase a student misses one. I told the kids the chat was recorded too and I was wrong.,, but they’re ten so I’ll continue to lie about that so they don’t say anything inappropriate.

There were kids signing in with their classmates names and posting inappropriate things just trying to get them in trouble. Even if a real name was there it could have been someone else. There is no way to know who is really behind the name they type in when they enter the class.

It’s not FCPS. It’s the parents who have not raised their children to act appropriately. I’m glad your kid who had an online class in his AP course a few times had appropriate classmates. How is this possible - you’re signed in with your name.
You type in your own name and it wasn’t attached to an email acct. so really the students could type any name and the teacher would have no idea who it is.
