There is a nice small downtown area within walking distance of W&L campus. Wake is loosely affiliated with a church can’t recall which. Southern school, religious affiliation - fine school but that doesn’t appeal to everyone. I haven’t visited W&L in years but had the feeling the undergrad was far more conservative than the law school.

Yea right, mediocre. Last year men’s tennis, soccer and golf were ranked in top 5. Baseball preseason was 15 (but had lousy start before Covid ended it) and I believe a female golfer won National championship. So while it may not be LSU, outside of big three sports and for a school of 5,000 students it is far from mediocre.
