Subject: Have you ever been called ugly?
I was voted ugliest girl in 4th grade and ended up modeling as teen and into my 20s. You don't have to accept the labels people give you.

It depends. What were the circumstances when those girls called you ugly? Were they being serious or were you girls fighting or arguing? Also, if the “everyone “ who calls you pretty are related to you, I’m sorry but those really don’t count.

FYI getting compliments from men really doesn’t count much because they have ulterior motives. Just sayin. I notice that a lot on FB. The ugliest girls possible getting all these crazy compliments on their selfies but only from men. .
Men find them attractive. That matters more than what some competitive women think of other women.

Well, being called beautiful by women who are related to you doesn't count. If men call you beautiful, that doesn't count either, because they have ulterior motives. I am fairly attractive if I groom myself and fairly unattractive if I am ungroomed.
I do have nice features and skin so no I have never been ugly. I think if I was called ugly by others and it was the general consensus, it would have made me very sad.
I think some women are hard to look at -Sarah Sanders, Kathy Griffith etc.
I think many women can become at least average with intervention. There are very few who don't reach the average mark with intervention.

It means they are cute. I don't know who you hang out with, but the people I know aren't mean enough to say someone is ugly, so they just don't say anything if someone is ugly and cute means cute.
right, cute is good. If someone was actually ugly they either wouldn't say anything or they would say "I'm not attracted to her"
See, I don't even know that that's true, because, okay for example, I'm not super attracted to Asian men. So if you showed me an objectively super hot Asian guy, I probably wouldnt be attracted to him, which doesn't mean he's ugly, just not my type?

Not sure anyone ever called me 'ugly.' I was called 'horse' a few times because I loved horses and I was a stocky athletic girl in the 60s. But I don't think anyone ever has to say out loud that you're ugly. You just get the message from all the impossible standards of beauty being thrown at you through the media. Now that I'm in my 60s I don't care. I feel so good every day from being fit and working out. Billy Crystal was wrong - it's better to feel good than to look good!

Don't be so sure. There are tons of people with inner confidence. If someone said that to me, I'd be like "Wow, he's sure having a bad day and lashing out to make himself feel more powerful" and move on with my life. A girl told my daughter she had ugly hair like straw, and when my daughter told me, I laughed, because it was so totally ridiculous. And then that night I deep conditioned DD's hair and the next day she bounded into school with shiny, soft hair. I doubt she's thought of that girl ever again.
