They...they have jobs. Yes, even my 63 year old mom. That is why my children go to day care. Why do you think we pay thousands of dollars a month? This is just baffling.

Western Fairfax church-based daycare is still open. We pulled our kids last week but it's not going well for any of us...DH and I want to kill each other, I'm dropping the ball at work, the kids are bored and miss their routine and structure and friends. Hardly any kids are even there, so I'm not sure how long they'll be able to stay open, but I'm seriously considering sending them back. This misery is unsustainable.

Are you that dense? Uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbors, family-friends. Not unrelated and unfamiliar people running a business.

Not everyone has local or has them at all. We have no cousins, one aunt who is not into kids, etc. Why don't you offer to step up and help? Neighbors and friend are working or with their kids.

That is a day care only a day care is licensed and regulated. What if your family will not step up? My mom is able and in 12 years hasn't seen our kids for more than two hours (lives close) and never has kept them overnight. I was in the hospital for a week with a medical emergency and she didn't offer any help.

I'm a great aunt who would be thrilled to help out with my great niece if her daycare closes. I lost my job this week and am very lonely with too much time on my hands.
