Let's stop policing women for every little thing. Can we not have some fun in our lives with language, the way we dress, etc.?! Besides, it's got to be exhausting spending so much precious energy on something so minor in the scope of things.

Blame the show on NPR. NPR has been introducing us white dorks to different segments of culture for years now!

Yeah, until this thread, I never knew it was anything but the name of an NPR show!

Same poster here: I just had to google what it means if you say it in conversation! (other than meaning the name of the NPR show)!

I have never ever heard someone say totes adores. I must be living under a rock.

Yup, the very ones who wear Lululemon driving their long hair flowing sons to lacrosse practice in the Escalade. It is what it is.....supper annoying and pretty ridiculous looking. Why people can't you just speak like a full grown adult with a decent command of the English language!

I am 49 and consider 40's to be somewhat young, not like you are 30 or anything but in today's world 40 is certainly not old!

Are you drunk?
Read your second sentence again.

Anonymous wrote:“It is what it is” is a hated saying (always comes up when DCUMers state the sayings they hate), but I think it’s so useful. It’s an acknowledgement that some things can’t be changed so we must accept them. I don’t use the others, but whatever, who cares. You can’t really change what people say. It is what it is, you know?

+1
I dont mind at the end of the day, either.

+2 Of course, you get what you get so don't get upset.

I stand by my use of "it is what it is." It has clear meaning.

If someone said that to my face, I would slap them.

lol. agree but it happened!! Sure enough a fellow mom at my sons nursery school. I almost just turned and walked away. but instead said "huh"? acting like i had no idea what it meant to which she replied "means totally". I think the look of disdain on my face said it all as I did not react with a single word, her face grew red and she quickly changed the subject.

You're so proud of being an asshole to another mom. Weird.

Welcome to DCUM.
