Well this is just wonderful considering DS was rejected
GPA: 4.0/4.0 (unweighted)
Tests: (35 ACT, 35 english, 35-math, 35-reading, 34-science, 9-essay)
Varsity Tennis Captain
Started a non-profit etc.
But we're Indian from New Jersey so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

They released the ED1 and ED2 data. 33% ED1
AND 13% ED2 acceptance rate![]()
!!
I guess RD will be around 10% or even lower![]()
I'd be very interested to see what other schools ED1 vs ED2 admit rate is. I've seen similar at Wesleyan - and it makes me think there's not nearly the bump for ED2 that there is for ED1. I think at that point, they'll take kids that they would definitely admit RD but otherwise the school has already filled half its class through ED1 and there's no reason to give any applicant a bump prior to RD

This.
Explain this? So are the rankings wrong?
DP. Social prestige would rank Emory quite a bit lower than Georgetown, Cornell, Haverford, etc.

Same, only got into Oxford. 4.0 UW, 1520 sat, 790 math2, 740 physics, decent ecs and essays. Asian
OMG so happy to see these posts about Oxford - no offense to Emory but my kid would go to Oxford over Emory in a heartbeat. Maybe Brexit is making it easier for US students. Not that those kids didn't have great stats- they did -but I know the British school don't care as much about EC's unless it's debate or crew.
