We also have a Sienna. Both my DH and I consider it the most useful car we own, plus it is a much better value than the Tesla X.
Tell your wife to get over herself. Is she ashamed of having kids or something? Get the car that is best for a family - and that is a minivan.
We are on Sienna #2 (red-light-running asshole killed the first one, but I can vouch for their safety in a way I never wanted to), and it’s an immensely practical car. Sliding doors, drives like a car, excellent cargo space, especially with fold-into-floor seats.
And I love the Tesla owner shaking people for not buying an $80K car that goes less than 250 miles per charge. I have owned 4 cars that didn’t cost $80K total, and two were brand new. DCUM never ceases to amaze me. Not everyone is DCUM “middle class” rich.
