Other than one age group, overall MU has improved in several areas. Box scores have generally tightened across the board. Other areas like expanding affiliate clubs in unrepresented geographic areas for DA are more intangible and will simply take time to determine their value. 06 and 07 will continue to be trouble spots moving forward and it is hard to know how that will affect the 08 age group.

I fail to see how rooting for the club to fail is beneficial overall considering the general disdain this thread seems to have against Metro and its talent. It is still a odd thing to claim the club has no talent and then claim how much more concentrated and better the remaining DA and ECNL clubs would be if Metro kids went elsewhere.

How many difference makers does one believe each Metro team has to improve remaining clubs?

Loudoun 07 is their first team that had a defined path to stay within the club for higher level (ECNL, DA) soccer. Previously, the top players left Loudoun and went to FCV, McLean etc. When Loudoun got ECNL, they essentially took their top teams at the older age groups (which were essentially "B" teams since the elite talent left) and made them their ECNL teams. Of course they would struggle. The real evaluation on how Loudoun will fare long-term rests with the 07s, 08s, 09s, etc. as they progress through ECNL. Sounds like the 07s are doing just fine, and only time will tell on the younger groups.

This is a conversation about MU and if the Development Academy Will give it another year. Every DA club is evaluated at the end of the season. No other club has anything to do with MU and the factors that will be considered in the DA’s decision in April/May

1/3 of their club ECNL wins is thanks to the 07 team.

But, again, MU is to blaim for dilution. The biggest soccer club in Virginia has a losing record in ECNL.

Exactly, but people have been against MU from the start. For some reason, it threatens them. What is funny is how some of these clubs still have such large rosters. It's so diluted, we are impacting the quality of their rosters , but they still put 20 on a roster.

That is a moot point. The DA isn't going anywhere. And why double the ECNL size last year? What value did it truly add? None. MU isn't going anywhere. Get used to it.

And just for point of comparison.

Loudoun 06 ECNL are in 8th place out of 11 with 2 wins and McLean are in 10th place with zero wins and one tie.

Loudoun has a -3 goal differential and McLean has a -33 differential.

BRYC site in the middle with a 5-4 record.

VDA sits atop the standings with a 7-0-1 record.

Arlington DA is 4-1-2
FCV DA is 7-1-1

So with ECNL NOVA has 4 clubs represented and 3 are in the bottom half of the standings but Metro United and DA is what caused the dilution?

They do have a handful of good players which would improve whatever team they went to immediately. And going forward, they are likely to improve (can't get much worse) which will dilute future U13 and up groups.
