I was grateful for whatever was given and appreciated kind words of thanks, I loved pictures drawn by the children. I never expected anything, so that Starbucks gift card or any gift card was used happily and was a treat to get a latte. For me, it was a gift enough to see happy families and thriving children go off on Christmas Break and hear about their adventures when they returned

Cash is best.

What's you HHI? I guarantee if you made $30k a year you would not be throwing away gift cards to any of those places.

NO ONE would throw away gift cards from Target Walmart and Amazon. Those are not specialty stores. You don't even have to visit a physical Walmart store if they are too far away from hour home or you're too high and mighty to mix with the crowd that shops there. With a few clicks, they deliver to your door. I find the poster who says that they let the GC expire very odd.

Agreed and you are actually giving the store a boost because they just get to keep the money to purchaser paid them...
